Spotlight Transformation: Bespoke Luxury Interior Design in a Traditional Property

Caroline Gardner Design have been in the business since 2004, and over this time we have brought many different styles of home back to life with a refurbished look, so it’s safe to say we know a thing or two about how to transform your home with bespoke luxury interior design.

In this blog, the spotlight is on Caroline Gardner Design’s transformation of this Georgian Grade II Listed, Country Estate project with luxury interior design.

When we set out to transform this traditional property, the brief for this family home was to be opulent but comfortable. In one of two reception rooms (of which you can see in the before/after image), the design needed completely ‘lightening up’. We needed to dilute the period dark wood furniture as it was absorbing too much of the light, making the room seem somewhat ‘heavy’ in appearance.

Through a combination of bespoke luxury interior design and specially commissioned furniture, carpeting, lighting, window treatments and more specialist touches, the beautiful family home was brought up to date for modern living whilst still capturing its original traditional essence and complimenting the period architecture.

Dark wood furniture was replaced by an antique mirror, chesterfield sofas, and chairs manufactured in bright contemporary fabrics. We also brought in bespoke huge hand carved mirrors, which were specially sourced to reflect the light.

Part of how we achieved a modern look that complimented the traditional aspects of the property was by teaming these bespoke luxury interior design characteristics with modern technology via Smart Home lighting and sound systems, automated UV blinds, and ‘rise and fall’ artwork to hide the state of the art TV. The transformation of this room speaks for itself.
