The brief from our clients was “ to create a dark, moody and relaxing atmosphere with a party vibe “ in their large open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area - the existing plain, neutral kitchen and living space did not reflect their big personalities.
Lighting was going to be key to this project, not only to create both mood and atmosphere, but also to define the space in this open plan scheme. By building ceiling coffers, with perimeter LED lighting, we were also able to house the audio system. Along with bespoke pendant lighting and directional spots, layers of lighting were introduced for different effects. A fully bespoke kitchen was designed to add texture and drama. The waterfall granite worktop, mitred on site to create that seamless geometric angle to the floor. The use of honeycomb paneling, encased in glass and back-lit for a unique effect.
Metalised cork wall-covering and layered window treatments has brought the living area to life, with the use of soft textured rugs and bespoke upholstery to create a cosy family lounging area and entertainment space. The feature sideboard was designed using wood veneers - book matched for maximum effect, with marble top and black nickel detailing. This, along with the faux concrete dining table are both stylish and practical for everyday usage.
